It has resulted in a bit of a panic situation at Manchester City as they now need to find an ideal replacement who can help them maintain the level of success they have had in recent years. They have started their search, and Girona’s current sporting director Quique Carcel was seen as an ideal replacement.

Meanwhile, his departure could also have an impact on the future of Guardiola whose contract is running out.
