RSC Anderlecht eyeing Ryan Mason swoop

Belgian RSC giants Anderlecht are looking to raid Tottenham Hotspur for the services of their assistant manager Ryan Mason.

Following the departure of Brian Riemer, RSC Anderlecht are on the lookout for a new manager and according to a report from HLN, the Belgian giants are looking to appoint Tottenham Hotspur assistant manager Ryan Mason as their new boss.

Mason had come up the ranks at Tottenham during his playing days. After a few loan spells away from the club, he was sold to Hull City back in 2016. While he did have a lot of potential as a player, the 33-year-old had a massive accident on the pitch. He fractured his skull in 2017 and was forced to call it a day.

The Englishman has since taken up the coaching role and has been at Tottenham since the summer of 2018. He has managed the youth team and has taken up a variety of other roles at the club. Mason was the assistant manager under Antonio Conte, and he even took up the role of an interim boss post the departure of Jose Mourinho.

At the age of just 29, he was the youngest to manage in a Premier League game. Currently, the 33-year-old is the assistant manager under Ange Postecoglou. He is quietly highly rated as a coach despite his young age, and RSC Anderlecht are trying to lure him away from Spurs.

Anderlecht to sign Ryan Mason as their next boss?

The Belgian outfit are looking for a new manager following the sacking of Brian Riemer, who was relieved of his duties on the 18th of September. While David Hubert has taken over as the caretaker boss, Anderlecht are pushing hard to find a new manager.

Mark van Bommel was their top target for the role but since he has withdrawn from the race, the European regulars have been looking at Ryan Mason and Vladimir Ivic. They seem to have already held talks with the 33-year-old to take over as their manager.

While Mason seems interested in the role, the Belgian club are yet to strike a deal with the North London club. Anderlecht need to find an agreement with Tottenham, and they are pushing hard to get it done by the end of this week. They want the Tottenham coach to be their main man and caretaker boss Hubert to join his coaching staff.
