Manchester United board set to discuss Erik ten Hag future

Manchester United’s hierarchy are all set to hold a meeting to discuss Erik ten Hag’s future following a poor start to the new season.

It has been another poor start to the new season for Manchester United. They are currently 14th in the Premier League despite having spent a fortune in the summer and according to a report from Football Insider, the club’s board are all set to discuss Erik ten Hag’s future.

After Sir Jim Ratcliffe took charge of the club and brought in quite a few new faces at the top level, they started looking for potential managerial candidates to replace Ten Hag. But, after discussing his future in the end-of-season review, they decided to back the former Ajax manager.

They extended his deal by another year and backed him in the summer transfer window. The Red Devils forked out a fortune and signed players that could help the Dutch manager better implement his style. But, the results haven’t followed.

Another poor start for Manchester United

They are 14th in the Premier League with just two wins in their seven league outings. They have failed to win both their Europa League fixtures and their only convincing performance came in the EFL Cup that too against Football League One outfit Barnsley.

After losing 3-0 to Tottenham at home, they failed to win against FC Porto and played out a 0-0 draw against Villa. The United hierarchy led by Sir Jim Ratcliffe were in the stands to watch the goalless outing and they might not be impressed with what they saw from their team.

Following the poor start to the season, the future of Erik ten Hag has once again become a big talking point. The Manchester United board are now all set to meet to discuss the 54-year-old’s future. They are considering parting ways with him.

The Red Devils have planned a meeting between the board members to decide whether to back him going forward. The new-look team at Old Trafford are putting together plans for the long run to revive the club and they will reconsider whether Ten Hag is the man for them going forward.
