Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is under a lot of pressure because of his team’s poor start to the season.
They have picked up just 7 points from five league matches and the Red Devils could look to part ways with the Dutch manager if things do not improve quickly. According to Football Insider, the Dutch manager’s future will be decided by four Manchester United officials – Dan Ashworth, Jason Wilcox, Omar Berrada, and Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
It will be interesting to see if they are willing to offer Ten Hag the opportunity to turn things around. Manchester United have been quite mediocre since the start of the season and they need to do better, especially with the resources at their disposal. They have put together a talented squad and they are expected to compete with the top clubs. Manchester United were expected to challenge the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City at the start of the season. They have spent substantial amounts of money on new signings, but the performances on the pitch have not improved.
Erik ten Hag needs a turnaround
Ten Hag will have to turn things around if Manchester United are to persist with him. He was under a lot of pressure at the start of the season and many would have expected him to be shown the door. However, Manchester United kept their faith in him and the Dutch manager will have to deliver now.
Manchester United missed out on Champions League qualification last season and a club of their stature cannot afford to miss out on the premier European competition. It remains to be seen whether they can get their season back on track and finish in the top four. They will be expected to win a trophy as well.
Manchester United have been linked with several managers in recent months, and there is unlikely to be any shortage of options to replace Erik ten Hag if he is shown the door. The Dutch manager will need to fight for his future and produce the desired results on the pitch now.
