Predicted Liverpool lineup against Bournemouth: Kelleher in for Alisson; Jota up front

Caoimhin Kelleher will replace the injured Alisson Becker in the Liverpool starting lineup against Bournemouth at Anfield on Saturday.

Liverpool will be hoping to challenge Arsenal and Manchester City for the league title, and they need to win games like the one on Saturday against Bournemouth at Anfield. The Reds made an impressive start to the season before the international break. However, the defeat to Nottingham Forest will have left them thoroughly disappointed.

Meanwhile, Arne Slot does not have many injury issues to deal with ahead of the visit of Bournemouth this weekend. However, Alisson Becker will miss out due to a hamstring injury. Harvey Elliott is the only other absentee for the Merseyside outfit. Slot discussed Alisson’s potentia availability in his pre-match press conference.

The Liverpool manager said, “Alisson is still a doubt if he can train today, so let’s wait [to see] if he can train. Then, if he can’t then he will probably not play as well, so we have to wait and see. Apart from Harvey Elliott, [there are no other injuries].”

The home side are likely to shape up in a 4-2-3-1 formation against Bournemouth, with Caoimhin Kelleher in goal in place of the injured Alisson Becker. Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson will start as the full-backs, and they will look to keep things compact defensively and create goalscoring opportunities for their teammates as well. Ibrahima Konate will start alongside Virgil van Dijk at the heart of the defence.

Ryan Gravenberch will start in the midfield double pivot alongside Alexis Mac Allister, and the two players will look to keep things compact defensively and add creativity and control to the side. Dominik Szoboszlai will look to create goal scoring opportunities in the attacking half with his passing and vision. The Hungarian will start in the number ten role here.

Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz will start on either side of Szoboszlai, and the two players will look to open up the Bournemouth defence with their pace and flair. They will look to get on the score sheet as well. Finally, Diogo Jota will lead the line for the Reds against Bournemouth. Darwin Nunez, Cody Gakpo, and Federico Chiesa are options on the bench.

Predicted Liverpool XI: Kelleher; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, van Dijk, Robertson; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Salah, Szoboszlai, Diaz; Jota
