Predicted Real Madrid lineup against RCD Mallorca: Mbappe set for La Liga debut; Camavinga unavailable

Kylian Mbappe will make his La Liga bow when Real Madrid and RCD Mallorca lock horns at Son Moix on Sunday night.

Real Madrid will aim to jump to the top of La Liga in the early days of the title race when they lock horns with RCD Mallorca at Son Moix on Sunday night. And Carlo Ancelotti does not have any new issues hampering his preparations ahead of his side’s first league game of the 2024/25 season.

Eduardo Camavinga is the latest absentee, although he was also unavailable for the UEFA Super Cup tie with Atalanta earlier this week. Camavinga accompanies long-term absentee David Alaba on the sidelines. Otherwise, the visitors have a full-strength travelling squad to take on Mallorca.

Ancelotti discussed his squad’s structure during his pre-match press conference. The Italian tactician also discussed Kylian Mbappe’s adaptation thus far at the Spanish club after his solid debut in the UEFA Super Cup.

The Real Madrid manager said, “The squad is complete and we now have to wait 12 days for this to be over. We don’t need any centre-backs because Alaba will recover quickly and well. We also have young players who are prepared and ready to play with us. Unfortunately Joan got injured, but we also have Jacobo and Asencio. They can contribute in some games.”

“We try to make sure that all the new players who come to Madrid feel comfortable. An extraordinary talent has arrived and we have to help him adapt as quickly as possible. He is serious, has humility and has started very well.”

Mbappe will retain his spot in the final third, leading the line for Real Madrid in a fluid attacking trifecta. Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo will accompany Mbappe in the offensive department. As for the midfield unit, there is no looking past Jude Bellingham, Aurelien Tchouameni, and Federico Valverde. So, Luka Modric will be an option on the bench for the away side alongside Brahim Diaz.

The backline will feature all the regular faces, with Dani Carvajal, Antonio Rudiger, Eder Militao, and Ferland Mendy completing the defensive quartet. Finally, Thibaut Courtois will take his usual spot between the sticks.

Predicted Real Madrid XI: Courtois; Carvajal, Militao, Rudiger, Mendy; Valverde, Tchouameni, Bellingham; Rodrygo, Mbappe, Vinicius Jr
