Predicted Real Madrid lineup against Granada: Courtois, Militao to return as Ancelotti rings in the changes

Aurelien Tchouameni will miss Saturday’s game between Real Madrid and Granada and will not play in La Liga again this season.

Real Madrid will aim to start building momentum towards the UEFA Champions League final when they lock horns with Granada at Nuevo Estadio de Los Carmenes on Saturday evening. And Carlo Ancelotti has a new injury concern hampering his preparations ahead of his side’s latest fixture.

Aurelien Tchouameni has sustained a stress injury in his left foot, ruling him out of the remainder of the league campaign. In addition, he is a doubt for the UEFA Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund. The Frenchman has joined David Alaba on the sidelines as the only two players not in the travelling squad.

Meanwhile, Ancelotti discussed Tchouameni’s potential availability for the Champions League final during his pre-match press conference. The Italian tactician also revealed whether Thibaut Courtois and Eder Militao would start on Saturday.

The Real Madrid manager said, “Courtois will play, as will Militão. They both need the game time. I’ll have to consider players who have played a bit less but who have contributed so much. Kepa is a fine example, he’s been brilliant from the bench, helping his teammates. Lunin has to be ready to play as well. That’s why I’ll have to assess the goalkeeping issue in the coming games.”

“We’re not sure if Tchouameni will make it for the final but we’ll do all we can to see if he can recover. Militão will play in these games because he needs the minutes. The rest will rotate, including Rüdiger and Nacho.”

Courtois will replace Andriy Lunin between the sticks, with Real Madrid lining up in a 4-4-2 formation with a midfield diamond in front of him against Granada. The backline should feature Lucas Vazquez, Fran Garcia, Eder Militao, and Nacho, with the latter being the only player to retain his spot.

Ancelotti will rotate the rest of the starting lineup on Saturday. The midfield unit will comprise Eduardo Camavinga, Luka Modric, Dani Ceballos, and Arda Guler. So, Toni Kroos, Federico Valverde, and Jude Bellingham will get some rest. Finally, Joselu and Brahim Diaz will replace Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo in the strike partnership.

Predicted Real Madrid XI: Courtois; Vazquez, Militao, Nacho, F Garcia; Ceballos, Camavinga, Modric; Guler; Brahim Diaz, Joselu
