Marcus Rashford will start, but Antony will be unavailable for Manchester United against Fulham at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Manchester United will aim to end the Premier League campaign on a high when they welcome Fulham to Old Trafford on Sunday evening. And Erik ten Hag has a new injury concern hampering his preparations ahead of his side’s latest fixture.
Antony is the latest absentee after sustaining an ankle injury against Chelsea on Thursday. The Brazilian international will unlikely regain fitness in time for the FA Cup final against Manchester City next weekend.
The 23-year-old has joined Lisandro Martinez (foot), Phil Jones (knee), Marcel Sabitzer (knee), and Donny van de Beek (knee) on the sidelines. Meanwhile, ten Hag has been sweating over the fitness of Luke Shaw.
The English international sustained a back injury in Thursday’s game. But he has resumed training ahead of Sunday’s fixture and should be available. Ten Hag’s pre-match press conference took place shortly after the Chelsea match. So he could not provide much of an update on Shaw and Antony.

The Dutchman said, “In this moment, I can’t say if he [Shaw] is available or not for Sunday. No, I can’t tell in this moment. It’s too soon, it was a short night.”
With Antony unavailable, Alejandro Garnacho should make his long-awaited return to the starting lineup. The teenage sensation will likely join Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford in the final third. So Anthony Martial will drop to the bench.
Meanwhile, ten Hag should make sweeping changes in the midfield and defensive departments. While Bruno Fernandes will retain his spot and reprise the no. 10 role, Casemiro and Christian Eriksen should get some rest. So Fred and Scott McTominay will make rare starts for Manchester United.
As for the defensive unit, Harry Maguire will return to give Raphael Varane the opportunity to rest a little. Maguire will pair up with Victor Lindelof at the heart of the defence. Finally, Diogo Dalot and Tyrell Malacia should complete a new-look backline, with David de Gea being an automatic pick between the sticks.
Predicted Manchester United XI: de Gea; Dalot, Maguire, Lindelof, Malacia; Fred, McTominay; Sancho, Bruno Fernandes, Garnacho; Rashford
