According to Football Insider, Tottenham Hotspur are all set to appoint Arne Slot as their new manager in the coming week. The London club have been on the look for a new manager for a while now and it seems their search is about to end.
The 44-year-old has been on their radar ever since they parted ways with Antonio Conte. Spurs are impressed with what they have seen of the Feyenoord manager and believe he could be the right man to lead their project.
Slot has been in charge of the Dutch club for the last two seasons. And, he has an impressive record while managing them. The 44-year-old has so far taken charge of 99 matches and has a win percentage of 64.65. He has only lost 16 matches during his two-year spell at the club.
As far as the ongoing season is concerned, Slot has only lost five matches out of the 46. He has won 31 and drawn ten of those fixtures. He averages 2.24 points per game, a very impressive record for any manager irrespective of the league.
The former AZ Alkmaar manager’s contract at the Dutch club runs until the summer of 2025. However, he is likely to part ways with them in the summer given the amount of interest in his services. Feyenoord is keen on having him at the club for another season and they are willing to give him a pay hike. But, it seems he is likely to be the new manager of Tottenham.
There is no agreement in place between Spurs and Slot as of now. But, the talks have been progressing in the right direction. The Tottenham hierarchy was very impressed after interviewing the 44-year-old for the job. And, they believe he is the right man to fill the vacancy.
