PSG are reportedly considering making a move for Liverpool sporting director Michael Edwards to replace Leonardo.
According to an exclusive report from The Telegraph, Liverpool sporting director Michael Edwards has emerged as a target for Ligue 1 heavyweights Paris Saint-Germain, who are staring at a potential shakeup of their structure in the summer.
Edwards has been with Liverpool since 2011, having been brought into the club from Tottenham as a chief analyst by Damien Comolli. Having risen steadily through the ranks, he became the sporting director for the Merseyside giants in 2015 and has played a key role in the success that the Reds have enjoyed in recent seasons under Jurgen Klopp.
Edwards’ recruitment has been a cornerstone on which Liverpool’s rise to the top has been built, with the 42-year-old signing the likes of Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk, Alisson Becker, Fabinho and Andrew Robertson, among various others, at Anfield. He has also been very successful in getting premium fees for players such as Philippe Coutinho and Rhian Brewster.
Edwards has confirmed that he will be parting ways with Liverpool at the end of the current season, with Julian Ward set to step into his shoes before the next campaign kicks off. While the 42-year-old has not dropped any hints as to what lies in the future for him, a move to Parc des Princes could certainly be on the cards.

PSG are looking at a summer of change after facing yet another debacle in the UEFA Champions League. The Parisian giants were eliminated from the competition by Real Madrid despite taking a first-leg lead in their Round of 16 tie. As a result, Les Parisiens are taking stock of things as they prepare to make major changes at the club.
Manager Mauricio Pochettino is likely to face the axe amid links to Manchester United. At the same time, former player and current director, Leonardo, could also be shown the door by PSG. The Brazilian has had mixed success during his tenure in charge of transfers with the French capital club.
A move for Tottenham director Fabio Paratici had been mooted, but the Italian is keen on staying put at the north London club. At the same time, PSG are also looking at Atletico Madrid’s Andrea Berta, Giovanni Rossi of Sassuolo and Hugo Viana of Sporting CP. But outgoing Liverpool sporting director Michael Edwards is also very much on the agenda for the Ligue 1 champions-elect.
It remains to be seen if the 42-year-old ends up taking the job at PSG, but given his body of work at Liverpool, any club signing Edwards could stand to benefit greatly.
