AC Milan, Inter Milan and Real Betis are reportedly interested in signing Real Madrid midfielder Isco on a Bosman move in the summer.
According to a report by Calciomercato.it, Serie A giants AC Milan and Inter Milan are plotting a Bosman move for Isco. As per a separate report by Defensa Central, the Real Madrid midfielder is also a target for La Liga rivals Real Betis heading into the summer transfer window.
Isco was once widely regarded as one of the best young midfielders in Europe and touted for a bright future at Real Madrid upon arriving from Malaga in July 2013. But in the last nine years, the Spaniard has had his fair share of struggles at the Santiago Bernabeu, with Luka Modric and Toni Kroos usurping him in the pecking order.
Things have gone from bad to worse for the 29-year-old in the last few years, and in the ongoing season, he has managed just 277 minutes of game-time across 13 appearances in all competitions. After entering the final six months of his Real Madrid contract, Isco is destined to leave the club in the summer, with AC Milan, Inter Milan and Real Betis interested in signing him.
The interest from AC Milan could be stemming from Brahim Diaz’s inconsistencies this season. The Spaniard has largely flattered to deceive this season, and the same can be said about Rade Krunic, who has not delivered the goods when getting the chance to impress.
As for Inter Milan, Matias Vecino faces an uncertain future at San Siro and is likely to leave in the summer transfer window. And Isco could be a like-for-like replacement for the Uruguayan international, with the Real Madrid midfielder’s impending status as a free agent making him an attractive target for the Serie A champions.
According to Defensa Central, Isco is also a target for Real Betis, where he could be a short-term replacement for Andres Guardado. The Mexican midfielder is approaching the final phase of his career and will need to start getting phased out of the first-team picture soon.
In addition to AC Milan, Inter Milan and Real Betis, La Liga giants Sevilla and Arsenal are also keen on signing the Real Madrid midfielder on a Bosman move. So an all-out transfer battle could ensue for the services of the Spaniard, who is destined to leave Real Madrid as a free agent.
