Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly accepted Valencia’s loan offer for Tanguy Ndombele, with Paris Saint-Germain also involved in the race.
According to French journalist Julien Maynard, Valencia have emerged as a potential destination for Tanguy Ndombele. The La Liga giants have recently had their loan offer for the 25-year-old midfielder accepted by Tottenham Hotspur, leaving the player with an interesting choice to make in the remaining days of the winter transfer window.
Aside from Valencia, Ndombele is also targeted by Paris Saint-Germain. The French giants are even in advanced talks with Tottenham regarding the move, with the midfielder himself keen on returning to Ligue 1.
However, nothing conclusive has transpired over the past week, which may suggest indecision from PSG’s end. Les Parisiens, after all, may have to offload Georginio Wijnaldum before they can secure a new midfielder. And quite curiously, the Dutchman has recently expressed his openness to join Tottenham.
Nevertheless, the uncertainty surrounding PSG’s pursuit of Ndombele has paved the way for Valencia to make an attempt to sign the Frenchman. With Atletico Madrid reportedly closing in on signing Daniel Wass, the La Liga outfit are looking for a new midfielder that can shore up their options during the second half of the campaign.
Ndombele fits the bill well due to his technical prowess. He can add the creative essence in the Valencia midfield, which may ultimately help Jose Bordalas’s men strengthen their prospects of clinching the European spots come May.
On the flip side, the Frenchman’s potential exit from Spurs could help the club bring in a fresh face in the middle of the park. While Wijnaldum remains an option, coach Antonio Conte is also targeting a cost-effective option in Sofyan Amrabat. The Fiorentina star has been making an impression in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations and could be on the verge of a move to Tottenham.
Ndombele’s departure may also help Tottenham finalise a move for Adama Traore. The Lilywhites reportedly had their £20 million offer accepted by Wolves earlier this month, but they are yet to finalise the deal.
The report suggests Ndombele has two options on his plate right now, in the form of Valencia and PSG. He does prefer a move to Paris, but it won’t be surprising to see the 25-year-old midfielder being forced to move to Valencia, as the supposed move to PSG continues to stall. And with only a few days remaining before the transfer market slams to a shut, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for the Frenchman.
