Barcelona will need to shell out €15 million to secure the services of Julian Draxler, with PSG ready to sell him to the Blaugrana this month.
According to a report by Catalan outlet El Nacional, Paris Saint-Germain will not stand in Barcelona, and Julian Draxler’s way with all the parties keen on seeing through a January transfer. However, the Catalan giants have been told to stump up €15 million to secure the services of the German international.
Julian Draxler has endured a difficult spell with Paris Saint-Germain since arriving from VfL Wolfsburg in January 2017. Once widely regarded as the future of German football, the player has struggled to reach his potential, which has directly resulted from his inability to become a regular at Parc des Princes.
To date, the 28-year-old has made 188 appearances for PSG, chipping in with 26 goals and 41 assists in the process. However, Draxler is reportedly seeking a new adventure after struggling to nail down a regular spot in the starting lineups at PSG. Such a situation has captured the attention of several clubs, including Barcelona.
The interest from Barcelona might be surprising, but it is understandable, as Ousmane Dembele is facing an uncertain future at Camp Nou. After being on the verge of committing his long-term future to the club, the French international recently rejected their latest proposal.
As a result, Dembele is highly likely to leave Barcelona as a free agent in the summer transfer window if the Catalan giants cannot offload him this month. Interestingly, the 24-year-old could join PSG after reportedly reaching a pre-contract agreement with the French giants. And his replacement could be coming from PSG.
The La Liga heavyweights are keen on bringing Draxler in from PSG in the January transfer window. And Barcelona’s hopes of securing the services of the 28-year-old have been handed a boost, with PSG ready to sell him to them. The German international will not cost a bomb either, with Les Parisiens demanding €15 million for him.
The €15 million price tag might not be a stretch for Barcelona amid their financial woes, with Barcelona hoping to offset his transfer fee by selling Dembele. However, it remains to be seen if PSG will launch the offensive for Dembele this month or wait till the summer to snap him up on a Bosman move.
