Aston Villa are reportedly interested in signing Coventry City’s teenage starlet Isaac Moore, who is impressing for the club’s Under-18 outfit.

According to a report from The Athletic, Aston Villa are keeping tabs on the progress of Coventry City’s 15-year-old prospect Isaac Moore, who is making quite an impression with the EFL Championship club’s Under-18 side.

Moore, a midfielder by trade, has been playing regularly for Coventry’s Under-18 outfit this season. The teenager made some waves earlier this year in August after scoring an audacious goal from the halfway line for the youth side against Watford. After the game, he came in for a lot of praise from his manager, John Dempster, as he scored a brace to help the team win 3-2.

“Also, I have to give a special mention to Isaac Moore playing as a 15-year-old and to get two goals from midfield is a magnificent effort. Some of his efforts off the ball were great today and his regains of possession were top draw so we’re really pleased with him,” Dempster had said.

And it seems like Aston Villa have taken notice of the 15-year-old’s abilities. The Midlands club recently raided the Championship outfit for another young prospect, Thierry Katsukunya, only last month and are now looking at Moore as they continue to bolster their youth ranks.

Villa have had a lot of promising young talent coming through the academy, with the likes of Jacob Ramsey, Carney Chukwuemeka, Cameron Archer all working their way up through the ranks and into the first team.

New manager Steven Gerrard has made it a point to continue strengthening the youth and the reserve teams at Villa Park. The former Liverpool icon was not shy of giving young talent opportunities back at his previous club, Rangers, with Nathan Patterson, who interestingly is a target for Aston Villa, a beneficiary of his approach.

Having added Katsukunya to the ranks from Coventry, the Midlands club now look set to raid the Sky Blues again for the exciting 15-year-old prospect, Moore. It remains to be seen if Villa are successful in their pursuit of the youngster or whether some other clubs enter the race for his signing.
