Bayern Munich are reportedly ready to raid their rivals, Borussia Dortmund, for the signing of midfield sensation Jude Bellingham.

According to a report from Fichajes, Borussia Dortmund could be bracing themselves for yet another raid from arch-rivals Bayern Munich, who have their sights firmly set on English midfield sensation Jude Bellingham.

The 18-year-old burst onto the scenes at English Championship side Birmingham City before moving to Dortmund in the summer of 2020, snubbing interest from a host of other top clubs. The move has worked out great for the youngster, who quickly became a first-team regular at Signal Iduna Park and forced his way into the England national team as well.

A generational talent, Bellingham has displayed maturity beyond his young age, while his ball-carrying capabilities from the middle of the park make him a valuable asset for the Black and Yellows. The teenager has featured in 69 matches for Dortmund and has been directly involved in 20 goals.

Bellingham’s form in the ongoing campaign has been particularly impressive, with the Englishman managing a tally of three goals and nine assists from just 23 appearances across all competitions. Naturally, the biggest clubs across Europe are queuing up to swoop him away from Die Schwarzgelben

Liverpool have been touted as the frontrunners to sign Bellingham, but now Bayern Munich have also thrown their hat in the ring for the signing of the ten-time capped England international. The German champions have raided their title rivals for top talents in the past, having brought in Mario Gotze, Mats Hummels and Robert Lewandowski.

While it has previously been mentioned that Erling Haaland could be on the agenda for Die Roten, it seems like they are instead going after Bellingham. With Corentin Tolisso widely expected to leave at the end of the season and Marc Roca also not a part of manager Julian Nagelsmann’s plans, a new midfielder would be a necessary addition at the Allianz Arena next summer.

Someone like Bellingham could be a viable signing for the Bavarian giants, as he could be the ideal foil for Joshua Kimmich in the middle of the park. And his age means that the Englishman could be a solution for the Bundesliga champions in the short and long term.

However, having lost Jadon Sancho to Manchester United last summer and facing the prospect of losing Haaland in 2022, it would be extremely unlikely that Dortmund would entertain the possibility of selling Bellingham, whose contract runs till 2025. However, the midfielder is now on the radars of Bayern Munich.
