Real Madrid are reportedly not interested in signing Wolves winger Adama Traore, who could be available for as little as €18 million in the summer.
According to a report from El Nacional, Real Madrid have no intentions of signing former Barcelona winger Adama Traore, who is set to leave Premier League outfit Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer transfer window.
Traore came through the youth ranks at Barcelona and broke into the first team at a very young age. However, after having made just four senior appearances, the winger sought an exit in 2015 to get more regular playing time and ended up signing for Aston Villa. After a year with the Midlands club, he signed for Middlesbrough and spent a couple of years at the Riverside Stadium before joining Wolves in 2018.
The 25-year-old has earned a reputation for being a dangerous winger in the Premier League during his time with the Black Country outfit, although his form has been on the wane over the past year. Indeed, Traore has not been a regular fixture under new manager Bruno Lage. And with his contract running out in 2023, Wolves are now ready to part ways with him in the summer of next year.
The Midlands club had valued him at around €30 million after having set an asking price of double that figure not very long ago. However, with his contract situation being as it is, Traore is believed to be available for as little as €18 million in 2022, which could make him an enticing target for many clubs.
The report claims that Traore is particularly keen on securing a move to La Liga, with his services having already been offered to league leaders Real Madrid. It is believed that the 25-year-old is keen on working with Carlo Ancelotti and has instructed his agent to engineer a move to the Santiago Bernabeu.
However, the current La Liga leaders have no interest in signing the former Barcelona winger. Despite the Spanish international being available for a bargain price, Florentino Perez & co. do not wish to sign him in the summer of 2022.
A winger may be needed at the Santiago Bernabeu next year, though, with Gareth Bale’s contract expiring at the end of the season. There have been question marks over the futures of Eden Hazard and Marco Asensio as well. While Kylian Mbappe remains a top target for Los Blancos, it will be interesting to see if they decide to sign anyone else. But it seems like Traore might not be getting his move to Real Madrid.
