Real Madrid will reportedly need to cough up €61 million to sign 24-year-old Nigerian midfielder from Leicester City.

According to a report by Catalan outlet El Nacional, Real Madrid know how much they will need to shell out to secure the services of Wilfred Ndidi. Leicester City will be demanding €61 million from prospective suitors who wish to sign the 24-year-old midfielder.

Wilfred Ndidi joined Leicester City from KRC Genk in January 2017 and has since established himself as one of the best holding midfielders in the Premier League. Over the last four years, the Nigerian international has been a mainstay for club and country, proving a pivotal figure for both teams.

To date, Ndidi has made 187 appearances for Leicester, chipping in with nine goals and 11 assists in the process. The 24-year-old’s exploits at Leicester have duly been noted, with one of the biggest clubs in the world in Real Madrid hot on his trail.

The interest from Real Madrid is understandable as, according to the report, doubts are emerging over the future of Casemiro. It has been suggested by El Nacional that some of Casemiro’s recent performances have left a lot to be desired, with Carlo Ancelotti left disillusioned by said displays.

So, Real Madrid might not have any qualms in offloading the Brazilian midfielder, especially amid interest from Manchester United. Apart from the Red Devils, Newcastle United and Paris Saint-Germain have also been linked with Casemiro, whose future at Real Madrid is as uncertain as it has ever been.

Hence, Ndidi is a viable target for the Spanish giants, who are targeting the 24-year-old as a possible replacement for Casemiro. And now, Real Madrid know how much they will need to fork out to swoop the Nigerian midfielder away from Leicester City.

The former Premier League champions are demanding €61 million in exchange for Ndidi’s services. The player himself could be open to joining Real Madrid, though, considering Leicester’s struggles this season.

Defeat to Chelsea on Saturday has left the Foxes 12th on the Premier League table, leaving the 24-year-old frustrated. So, in such a situation, it remains to be seen if Real Madrid can pounce to prise Ndidi away from the King Power Stadium.
