Manchester City and Liverpool are keeping close tabs on Fluminense’s youth sensation Arthur Wenderrosky.
According to journalist Ekrem Konur, Manchester City and Liverpool are keeping an eye on Arthur Wenderrosky. The Fluminense youngster has made a solid impression with his progression and could soon be on the brink of a move to Europe.
A native of Nova Friburgo, Wenderrosky is officially a member of Fluminense’s U-17 squad. He is an attacking midfielder who has left the onlookers impressed with his dynamism and trickery in the final third. He has also represented Brazil at the U16 and U17 levels and is currently regarded as one of the most promising prospects in the country.
Wenderrosky is yet to make his presence felt at the senior level. However, it is only a matter of time before he gets to represent the Fluminense side, although both Manchester City and Liverpool are keen on snapping him up even before he makes his professional breakthrough in Brazil.
Manchester City already have a strong scouting network in Brazil, having previously signed talents like Yan Couto, Douglas Luiz and Gabriel Jesus. The club have also had a lot of success in developing youth players in recent years, even though only Phil Foden has gone on to play for the first-team while others like Jadon Sancho and Brahim Diaz are reputed stars for top European clubs.

Wenderrorsky, in that regard, could be another useful investment for MCFC’s youth football program. The club’s access to the high-end facility, sporting environment and top-class coaches will give the Brazilian an ideal platform to further hone his skills and become an asset in the Premier League.
Liverpool, too, have recently built a high-end training facility themselves and have stepped up their academy recruitment. Much like City, the Reds have produced star players as well, including their very own Trent Alexander-Arnold and Curtis Jones, while there are numerous other players either plying their trade elsewhere or are on the verge of winning promotion to the senior side.
The addition of Arthur Wenderrosky could help Liverpool further strengthen their academy unit, so it will be interesting to see whether they will be able to fend off Man City in the pursuit of the Fluminense whizkid this January.
