Arsenal are reportedly among the clubs that are closely monitoring the progress of 18-year-old Spanish international Yeremi Pino.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Arsenal are keeping tabs on the progress of Yeremi Pino. The 18-year-old Villarreal whizkid is being pursued by a number of clubs across Europe, with Leicester City also rivalling the Gunners for his signature.
Yeremi Pino is widely regarded as one of the brightest prospects in Spain at the moment. The teenage prodigy made his breakthrough in the first-team setup at El Madrigal last season and has since already come leaps and bounds, becoming a mainstay in attack for Villarreal.
To date, the 18-year-old has made 46 appearances for the Yellow Submarine while amassing a return of eight goals and four assists. Most recently, Pino also earned his maiden cap for the Spanish national side, as they beat Italy 2-1 to reach the UEFA Nations League final. And his progress has not gone unnoticed either, with Arsenal among his suitors.
Arsenal appear to be in the market for a wide attacker amid the inconsistencies of Nicolas Pepe. In addition, there have been suggestions recently that Gabriel Martinelli is growing increasingly frustrated over the lack of game-time coming his way and could seek a move away from the Emirates.
So while Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe have impressed, it goes without saying that the north Londoners could do with another addition out wide, so as to introduce some dynamism in the attacking unit. With that in mind, Yeremi Pino is a viable target for Arsenal, who have also been linked with the likes of Raheem Sterling, Goncalo Guedes and Lorenzo Insigne recently.
Apart from Arsenal, Leicester City also have their sights set on the Spanish international, who has also been linked with Barcelona and Real Madrid in recent times. However, swooping him away from Villarreal might not be a straightforward prospect, with game-time being a key factor.
For now, Arsenal are the latest club to have emerged in pursuit of the 18-year-old prospect, and it remains to be seen if they firm up their interest in him in the weeks and months to come. Till then, Pino will hope to continue going from strength to strength at Villarreal while also growing in his role in the Spanish national side.
