Paul Pogba would reportedly favour a move to Real Madrid over Paris Saint-Germain if he chooses to leave Manchester United next summer.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Paris Saint-Germain will be turning their attention towards alternatives to Paul Pogba, as the Manchester United midfielder prefers a move to Real Madrid over the French capital if he departs Old Trafford.

Paul Pogba has now completed five years in his second stint with Manchester United and it is fair to say that the past half a decade has been a roller-coaster of a ride for the Frenchman. Under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, though, the 28-year-old has been nothing short of top notch and in 2021, he has arguably been Manchester United’s best performer.

Pogba has made an electric start to the 2021/22 season as well, having provided five assists in three games so far, with four of those assists coming in one game. However, his Manchester United future is extremely uncertain, seeing as he has entered the final year of his contract with the club. Such a situation has piqued the interest of Real Madrid.

Real Madrid hold a long-standing interest in Pogba, having attempted to sign him before he made his return to Manchester United. The interest has not really gone away in the last five years. And at a time when their financial situation is somewhat precarious, having the opportunity to sign Pogba on a free transfer makes it the golden chance for Los Blancos.

As per recent reports, Real Madrid are plotting a Bosman move for Pogba despite the arrival of Eduardo Camavinga, which is understandable considering both Toni Kroos and Luka Modric are well into their thirties. So signing the Manchester United midfielder will help them avoid the situation that has brewed at the heart of the defence following the departures of Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane.

In addition to Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain have also been keen on signing Pogba, having been plotting a summer move for him as well. However, PSG are now turning their attention away from the 28-year-old, as he would favour a move to Real Madrid if and when he leaves Manchester United.

In fact, there have been suggestions that Pogba is himself keen on sealing a Bosman move to Real Madrid, who are admittedly his dream club. As per the report, the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner is hoping to negotiate an agreement with the Merengues as well and it remains to be seen if a dream move sees the light of the day for him.
