Crystal Palace are in contention to sign Paris Saint-Germain outcast Layvin Kurzawa, who is also a target for Lyon and Galatasaray.

According to Foot Mercato, Crystal Palace have been offered the opportunity to sign Layvin Kurzawa. The Paris Saint-Germain full-back doesn’t have a future at the club anymore after some high-profile investments in the summer.

Palace have emerged as a potential destination due to their manager Patrick Vieira, who happens to rate the player highly. The Eagles, though, are not the only club in contention to sign Kurzawa, with the full-back also being courted by Olympique Lyon and Galatasaray.

The Eagles are yet to fill the void left by Patrick van Aanholt after the Dutchman chose to run out his contract at Selhurst Park at the end of last season. Incidentally, he has joined Galatasaray on a free transfer, so it is certainly interesting to see the Turkish giants also eyeing a move for Kurzawa this summer.

Palace, meanwhile, have Tyrick Mitchell as their first-choice left-back. But with the club lacking a reliable alternative, Vieira could be forced to potentially re-enter the market and look for further defensive reinforcements, despite having already brought in Joachim Andersen and Marc Guehi earlier in the summer.

Kurzawa might not be a bad option given his experience at the highest level of football. Formerly of AS Monaco, the defender has 169 appearances to his name in the French top-flight. He is quite synonymous with success as well, having won the Ligue 1 title four times while securing five league cup titles.

The 28-year-old’s experience and pedigree at the highest level of football, therefore, could certainly be useful for Crystal Palace as they look to embark on a new era under Patrick Vieira next season.

The Eagles need to be swift, though, especially with Lyon and Galatasaray also eyeing a move for Kurzawa in this remaining week of the summer transfer window.

Aside from the PSG full-back, Palace are also in the market for Eddie Nketiah. They have also emerged as a shock suitor for Juventus ace Weston McKennie, so it certainly promises to be an exciting end to the transfer window for the London club, who resume their Premier League campaign with an away game against West Ham United.
