Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly ready to make a late push to sign Noni Madueke amid interest from Wolves and Leicester City.
According to Sky Sports, Tottenham Hotspur are keen on re-signing former talent Noni Madueke from PSV Eindhoven this summer. The English Under-21 international has made a solid impression in Eredivisie, which has also tempted clubs like Leicester City and Wolves.
However, PSV are not all too keen on offloading Madueke for a cut-price fee. In fact, they value the player at around £34 million which could prove to be too expensive for the three English clubs.
A native of London, the Englishman initially joined PSV on a free transfer. It has proven to be quite a bargain for the Dutch giants, with the winger already notching up 43 competitive appearances since making his breakthrough last season.
The 19-year-old was notably involved in 13 goals in the Eredivisie last term. He has started the new season positively as well, notably scoring in his league while starring for the club’s UEFA Champions League qualifying campaign.
His exploits in front of goal has caught the eye of Tottenham Hotspur, who are determined to add more options in the attacking department, despite having roped in Bryan Gil from Sevilla, earlier this summer.
It appears Madueke could be a part of the club’s spending spree should they let go of Harry Kane. Manchester City have already linked with a sensational £127 million swoop for the English international and a sale could go a long way in increasing Spurs’ financial powers in the market.
The Lilywhites have already stepped up their pursuit of Nikola Milenkovic. But signing someone like Madueke could be a tricky task for Tottenham, with Wolves and Leicester City also interested in the services of the English Under-21 international.
The Foxes, in particular, have established themselves as one of the top teams in England, having already roped in quality players like Patson Daka and Boubacary Soumare. They could be a potential thorn in Tottenham’s pursuit of Madueke, who himself may prefer at least another season in Eredivisie before making the next step in his career.
Not to mention, PSV Eindhoven have already had to part ways with one of their star attackers in Donyell Malen. The Dutchman has joined Borussia Dortmund this summer, so losing another key player like Madueke is a scenario PSV would want to avoid, especially as they look to compete with Ajax for the Eredivisie title this season.
