Transfer News: Real Madrid lining up 2022 Bosman move for Niklas Sule

Real Madrid are reportedly interested in signing Niklas Sule on a free transfer next summer, once his Bayern Munich contract expires.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Real Madrid are plotting Bosman moves to bypass the financial issues that have been plaguing them lately, with several players being considered for free transfers for next summer’s transfer window. And one such player on their radar is Niklas Sule.

Niklas Sule joined Bayern Munich from Hoffenheim in the summer of 2017 and has since only made gradual progress at the Allianz Arena. Over the last four years, the 25-year-old has been in and out of the first-team scene while also having his growth hampered by some injuries.

To date, the German international has made 135 appearances for the Bundesliga heavyweights while chipping in with six goals and three assists along the way. Despite some inconsistent displays, though, Sule’s stock remains high, with Real Madrid keen on signing him, albeit in next summer’s transfer window.

That is because Sule’s contract with Bayern Munich will expire by the time the transfer window reopens next summer, with the 25-year-old entering the final year of his current deal. And with developments over a new deal being quite slow, Real Madrid will feel they are in business.

As per the report, Real Madrid are targeting a transfer window wherein they can sign several free agents next year so as to bypass their financial woes. To that end, they are creating a shortlist of viable candidates who could possibly arrive in the Spanish capital on a Bosman move in 2022, with the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Eduardo Camavinga and Paul Pogba being targeted.

Sule’s compatriot and Bayern Munich teammate Leon Goretzka is also on Real Madrid’s radar, with the German international entering the final year of his contract. As for Sule himself, he could reunite at the heart of Los Blancos’ defence with David Alaba, with the Spanish giants finally signing a long-term replacement for Raphael Varane, having struggled to do so since his exit.

For now, Sule’s contract situation at Bayern Munich seems to have piqued the interest of Real Madrid. And with that in mind, it will be interesting to see if the 25-year-old runs his deal down before possibly joining the Merengues on a Bosman move next summer.
