Transfer News: Real Madrid ready to table €120 million bid for Kylian Mbappe

Real Madrid are reportedly prepared to submit an offer worth €120 million to secure the services of long-term priority target Kylian Mbappe

According to a report by Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Kylian Mbappe is set to officially communicate his desire to leave Paris Saint-Germain to the club bosses. This comes as a major boost for Real Madrid, who are readying a €120 million bid for the 22-year-old attacker.

Kylian Mbappe has become one of the most sought-after players ever since he broke onto the scene at AS Monaco half a decade ago. The incredible campaign with the principality club piqued the interest of just about every big club in Europe, but it was Paris Saint-Germain who eventually won the race to sign the Frenchman.

Over the last few years, Mbappe has continued to be a revelation for club and country, winning the FIFA World Cup in 2018 in addition to multiple domestic titles with PSG. To date, the youngster has raked in an incredible tally of 133 goals and 63 assists in 173 appearances for the French giants. However, he appears to be coming to the end of the line at Parc des Princes, as he is determined to join Real Madrid.

Real Madrid hold a long-standing interest in Mbappe, and the speculation linking them with the 22-year-old once went to such an extent that they had to make an official statement rubbishing the claims that they were making a move for him, back in 2018. However, over the last couple of years or so, it has been an open secret that Mbappe is seen as the true successor for Cristiano Ronaldo.

Interestingly, as per Defensa Central, Mbappe also wishes to emulate Ronaldo at Real Madrid, and he wishes to make history with Los Blancos, just as the Portuguese legend did. That is exactly why the French international is now set to communicate his desire to leave PSG, with the recent arrival of Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos, who has even urged him to stay put in Paris, not doing anything to sway his resolve.

This has come as a massive boost for Real Madrid, who have now prepared an offer worth €120 million to secure his services. The Merengues, though, are hoping that Mbappe makes it crystal clear that he wants to leave, which could then force PSG’s hand while boosting their chances further to land their long-term priority target.

The report adds that Real Madrid are also willing to increase their offer to €150 million if the €120 million bid does not do the trick. What now remains to be seen is if Real Madrid can finally land Mbappe this summer or if they are forced to wait a year to possibly land the 22-year-old on a free transfer.
