Transfer News: Crystal Palace interested in Yann Karamoh

Crystal Palace are one of two clubs interested in the services of Parma winger Yann Karamoh, valued at around €6 million.

According to a report from Sport Parma, Yann Karamoh’s future remains a topic of worry for Parma. The club is keen on offloading the attacker, but none of the clubs are yet to show concrete interest. However, in recent days, Crystal Palace have contacted the entourage of the player, exploring the possibility of a potential move.

Parma currently value the player at around €6 million. Due to the lack of a concrete interest, though, they may have to settle for even less, which should appeal to both Palace and their rivals in this pursuit, LOSC Lille.

Formerly of Inter Milan, Yann Karamoh is unquestionably one of the more high profile players at Parma. He joined the club in 2019 on a season-long loan deal, and after making a solid impression in his first season, his move was permanent last summer, for a fee of €8 million.

However, the move has backfired, with the 23-year-old barely establishing himself as the main driving force for the Parma side. While the young attacker did muster 24 league appearances in Serie A last term, he scored only two goals before enduring an ankle injury that kept him out for a chunk of the campaign.

But that hasn’t deterred suitors like Crystal Palace from seeking the possibility of a potential move for Karamoh. It appears the club is dead set on finding reinforcements in the wide attacking department, one who can potentially serve as a long-term replacement for Wilfried Zaha.

The former Manchester United winger hasn’t attracted too many clubs this summer. But his future at Selhurst Park remains uncertain, with the club notably being linked with a move for Arnaut Danjuma this month.

The Bournemouth star might be an expensive option, though, and that is where someone like Yann Karamoh could be ideal. Valued at just €6 million, the 23-year-old can offer immediate backup for the offensive duo of Zaha and Eberechi Eze, and with time on his side, he certainly has the potential to become an asset for the Eagles going forward.

Capable of playing anywhere in the final third, Karamoh offers versatility as well. He can thus be the exact kind of player that thrives under the management of Patrick Vieira, as the Arsenal legend seeks to kickstart a new era at Selhurst Park this season.
