Leeds United have reportedly opened talks with 22-year-old Dutch forward Noa Lang over a move in the summer transfer window.

According to Fabrizio Romano on his Twitch stream, as relayed by Give Me Sport, Leeds United are stepping up their efforts to secure the services of Noa Lang in the summer transfer window. The Whites have initiated discussions with the 22-year-old Dutch forward, although they are yet to open talks with Club Brugge.

Noa Lang has made quite an impression since joining Club Brugge from Ajax last summer. Initially signed on loan by the Belgian club, the 22-year-old made such a remarkable impact in Brugge’s triumphant 2020/21 campaign in Belgian First Division A last term, racking up a fine tally of 17 goals and 11 assists in 37 appearances.

Lang’s exploits prompted Club Brugge to sign him permanently from Dutch giants Ajax, and the young forward has invariably ended up catching the attention of one of the biggest clubs in England, with Leeds United keen on signing him this summer.

Leeds United have already bolstered their attack in the summer transfer window by signing Jack Harrison permanently from Manchester City. However, with Helder Costa not impressing much last term in the Premier League and Raphinha continuing to be linked with even bigger clubs, it is prudent for the Whites to keep their options open, with one such option being Lang.

However, the 22-year-old is not the only forward on Leeds’ radar, with the likes of Noni Madueke, Ryan Kent and Daniel James also being heavily linked with them. Having said that, it looks like Leeds are taking a serious interest in signing Lang from Club Brugge if reputed Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano is to be believed.

Speaking on his Twitch stream, Romano said (h/t Give Me Sport), “He’s a target, they [Leeds] are talking with his agents, but there is no deal agreed or any officials bids yet with Club Brugge.”

His versatility is surely a valuable asset, with Lang capable of playing across the attacking line as well as in midfield. With Leeds now opening talks with the Dutch forward, it might only be a matter of time before they begin negotiations with Club Brugge. However, it remains to be seen if a concrete offer is presented by the Whites for the youngster this summer.
