Transfer News: Arsenal step up Eduardo Camavinga pursuit

Arsenal might be pushing ahead with their interest in Eduardo Camavinga after the Rennes set a deadline for any transfer of the teenager.

According to Le10Sport, Arsenal might push ahead with their interest in Stade Rennes’ teenage sensation Eduardo Camavinga in the coming days. Arsenal have a long-standing interest in the outstanding French teenager, but they might pursue a faster outcome with pressure mounting over a transfer.

The transfer season is barely here, and there are already deadlines set, heaping pressure on clubs looking to sign prized players. One such star is Eduardo Camavinga, the rising star of French football. The Rennes teenager has been linked with every top club of Europe possible, and Arsenal are among them.

Despite no European football next season, Arsenal continued to be linked to some of the top players, with Camavinga among them. Arsenal are seeking a replacement for Granit Xhaka, who is expected to join Roma soon. The Swiss midfielder’s influenced will be missed as Arsenal look at a younger alternative to replace him.

There’s interest in Wolves’ Ruben Neves as well as Yves Bissouma of Brighton. Although no offers have been made yet, the Gunners remain confident of landing one of their targets soon. Camavinga, like for other clubs, remains an important target for Arsenal.

As per reports, French club Rennes have issued an ultimatum to interested parties on making an offer, with the deadline set for June 28th. After that period, it is understood that Rennes will not entertain any requests for Camavinga and will expect the midfielder plays for the next season.

Camavinga’s contractual situation is also an important factor, as the midfielder only has a year left on the deal signed in 2019. The midfielder will be available on a free next summer, but clubs might be unwilling to wait until then and be part of a transfer war.

Camavinga featured 35 times for Rennes last season in Ligue 1, contributing a solitary goal and two assists. Rennes expect a high transfer price, although Arsenal and other interested clubs will be hoping to negotiate the price down to the bare minimum.

Madrid are understood to be the favourites to sign Camavinga, although the Blancos might postpone it until next summer owing to the transfer fee Rennes might demand. However, if Rennes decide to cash in on him, other clubs might have a chance, and Arsenal are looking at this opportunity this way and make progress.

However unlikely it may sound, Arsenal have a concrete interest in the player, and if they are to respect the deadline set by Rennes, an offer might arrive soon. Then again, it depends on Camavinga and especially the asking price Rennes might charge for the midfielder.

Will Camavinga prefer a move to Arsenal remains the big question? Although Arsenal will benefit from such a sensational move, as will any other interested club.
