Arsenal have reportedly lodged an offer worth €20 million to sign 21-year-old Israeli attacking sensation Manor Solomon this summer.
According to a report by Ukrainian outlet Sport Arena, Arsenal have stepped up their efforts to sign Manor Solomon in the summer transfer window. The Premier League heavyweights have offered €20 million to secure the services of the 21-year-old Israeli attacking sensation, but Shakhtar Donetsk want to recoup a higher sum to offload him.
Manor Solomon is coming off a breakthrough 2020/21 campaign with Shakhtar Donetsk, having established himself as a pivotal player for the Ukrainian giants. The 21-year-old raked in 35 appearances in all competitions while amassing a respectable tally of 11 goals and an assist.
Heading into the summer transfer window, though, the Israeli international appears set to leave Shakhtar Donetsk, and he is keen on a switch to the Premier League. There is no shortage of interest in Solomon either, with Arsenal already in talks to sign him ahead of the 2021/22 season.
The Gunners hold a long-standing interest in Solomon, having attempted to secure his services in the January transfer window while also being offered the chance to sign him twelve months ago. This summer, though, could be Arsenal’s best chance to secure the services of the 21-year-old.
The interest in the young attacking sensation makes a great deal of sense, considering Willian was sub-par in his maiden campaign at the Emirates and appears to be enduring a sharp decline. In addition, the veteran Brazilian winger has been linked with a potential summer exit as well and is keen on a shock return to Chelsea. Arsenal, therefore, must sign a replacement, making Solomon a viable target.
The potential arrival of the young attacker ought to serve Arsenal well, adding to a young group that consists of the promising Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli in addition to the ever-improving Nicolas Pepe. And Arsenal have stepped up their efforts to sign Solomon, having submitted a €20 million bid to Shakhtar Donetsk.
However, the Ukrainian club wish to recoup a slightly higher sum in exchange for the 21-year-old, which puts the ball back in Arsenal’s court. What now remains to be seen is if Arsenal are ready to meet Shakhtar’s valuation of Solomon or if they stick to their guns and look to reach an agreement on a €20 million transfer fee.
