Arsenal are reportedly keeping an eye on the development of 21-year-old French winger Amine Adli of FC Toulouse, who is also courted by AC Milan.
According to Tutto Mercato Web, Arsenal are among the clubs rivalling AC Milan in pursuit of Amine Adli. The 21-year-old FC Toulouse winger is tipped to leave the French outfit in the summer, following a successful campaign in Ligue 2, with the club ending up narrowly missing out on promotion.
Milan are believed to be in pole position in the race to sign Adli, who is currently valued at €10 million by Toulouse. His contract at the club expires in 2022, meaning the newly promoted Ligue 1 outfit will not have much leverage to drive up the youngster’s price tag. Their defeat to Nantes in the relegation play-off does not help either.
A native of Eu, Adli is a homegrown talent who was playing his trade with the Toulouse Under-19 side before being promoted to the senior team in 2019. The youngster was not involved much last season, when the club was still playing in the top-flight.
This time around, however, the attacker has stepped up to the plate in the second division, scoring eight goals and registering seven assists in just 33 matches. He has impressed the onlookers with his skill on the ball, coupled with his pace and dynamism. The 21-year-old’s contributions in front of goal were vital in helping Toulouse finish third in Ligue 2 this past season.

Adli’s exploits in front of goal have now earned him praise from several clubs across Europe. Arsenal, for one, are determined to sign the prospect, knowing his €10 million price tag makes him an ideal target for a club that is suffering from financial instability, thanks to the pandemic.
Not to mention, the Gunners are expected to let go of some of their key players in the summer. Alexandre Lacazette, in particular, is tipped for an exit from the Emirates while another Arsenal striker in Eddie Nketiah was reportedly offered to Leeds United.
It should pave the way for someone like Adli to slot in effortlessly at Arsenal. The youngster’s pace and technical prowess make him a better-suited prospect for Mikel Arteta’s tactical setup. He has also performed brilliantly in Ligue 2, and is not expected to cost a fortune, meaning the Frenchman could potentially be a bargain for the Gunners.
Unfortunately, it appears AC Milan are the front-runners in the pursuit of Adli. The Serie A giants, though, are unwilling to pay Toulouse’s asking price, which could give Arsenal an opportunity to emerge as a contender, knowing they can easily meet the €10 million valuation.
