Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti reportedly wants to raid former club Napoli for Hirving Lozano, who is valued at around €60 million.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Hirving Lozano has emerged as a priority for Carlo Ancelotti heading into the summer transfer window. The Italian manager has asked Real Madrid to make a move for the Mexican forward, with Napoli demanding €60 million for him.
Lozano joined Napoli from PSV Eindhoven in the summer of 2019 and has since continued to make decent enough progress in his career. While he was in and out of the side in his maiden campaign at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, the 25-year-old went on to enjoy a much more productive season in 2020/21.
One of the more prolific players for the Partenopei, Lozano boasted a tally of 15 goals and 5 assists in 43 appearances across all competitions. The Mexican international’s progress has not gone unnoticed, with Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti, in particular, keeping a keen eye on how he has fared at his former club Napoli.
In fact, Ancelotti had been keen on snapping the player up last summer, when he was at Everton, before a move failed to materialise. Now that the Italian tactician is back at Real Madrid, he is keen on raiding Napoli for the Mexican forward, who has been slapped with a €60 million price tag.
It has been mooted that Ancelotti could turn his attention towards some of his former clubs to reinforce the Real Madrid squad this summer and to that end, Richarlison has emerged as a target for Real Madrid as well. As far as Lozano is concerned, the interest from Los Blancos‘ boss does make sense.
Eden Hazard has struggled to make an impression since arriving from Chelsea in the summer of 2019, owing to a spate of injuries. In addition, the likes of Marco Asensio, Rodrygo Goes and Vinicius Jr. have blown hot and cold, with their inexperience shining through on several occasions.
In fact, Asensio has been linked with a possible exit this summer, in which instance, Real Madrid would need to sign a replacement, thereby making Lozano a viable target. However, his €60 million price tag could pose some issues at a time when finances have been stretched in light of the coronavirus pandemic. Nevertheless, it remains to be seen if Ancelotti is able to raid Napoli for the 25-year-old.
