Real Madrid reportedly have an agreement in place with Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe over a transfer to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer.

Speaking to Canal+, as relayed by MARCA, Bruno Satin, who is a player agent in France, has claimed that Real Madrid have an agreement in place with Kylian Mbappe and his family over a transfer from Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain.

Mbappe has grown into one of the biggest names in world football despite being just 22 years old. Having burst onto the scenes at AS Monaco during the 2016/17 campaign, the French attacker made the switch to PSG in 2017 and has risen to great heights ever since. In 170 appearances for Les Parisiens, he has plundered 131 goals and created 61 more.

An integral part of the France national team that won the FIFA World Cup in 2018, Mbappe has enjoyed a scintillating 2020/21 campaign, in which he has scored 41 goals and also has 11 assists from just 46 games across all competitions. The 22-year-old, ever since he broke out at Monaco, has been a transfer target for La Liga giants Real Madrid.

The Merengues, who lost out to Atletico Madrid in the race for the La Liga title this season, are set for a major squad overhaul in the summer, with several first-team regulars entering the final phase of their careers. The centre-forward department is certainly an area that needs immediate attention before the 2021/22 season kicks off.

Karim Benzema has enjoyed another stellar campaign, but at 33, he is in the last legs of his illustrious career while the lack of support for him in the attacking unit has become a major concern for Real Madrid. Thus, securing the signing of a new, prolific striker who can replace Benzema in the long run makes complete sense for Los Blancos.

While Erling Haaland has been mooted as a target, along with Inter Milan’s Serie A title-winner Romelu Lukaku, Mbappe has been Real Madrid’s primary target for a while now. And now, Bruno Satin, who is a player representative in France has claimed that the Spanish capital club have reached an agreement with the Frenchman and his camp over a summer move.

“My feeling is that he’s ready to do it. I also have information which says that Mbappe and his family have an agreement with Real Madrid,” he said. However, Satin does add that Real Madrid are yet to agree on a deal with his club, PSG, meaning a move could be far from done. “At first, there will be an agreement on the player’s part, but there’s also a need for Paris Saint-Germain to agree,” Satin added.

Mbappe is entering the final year of his contract and the French giants have put forth a new deal as well. However, the 22-year-old is yet to agree to a renewal over the terms being offered. According to Le Parisien, PSG have tabled a contract till 2025, with an option for him to leave the club in 2024. The forward, though, wants a deal till 2023, and the option of leaving at the end of the next season.

Should Mbappe not sign the deal, PSG could be forced to cash in on him this summer or risk losing him for nothing next year. It remains to be seen how this transfer saga develops in the coming weeks.
