Liverpool are reportedly ready rival Manchester United in the race to sign Nordsjaelland whizkid Kamaldeen Sulemana.
According to Daily Mail, Liverpool have emerged as the latest club to be linked with a move for Kamaldeen Sulemana this summer. It appears the Reds have sent their Scandinavian scout Mads Jorgensen to keep a close eye on the Nordsjaelland youngster, who has set the world alight with his performances in the Norwegian Super Lig.
Sulemana, though, has been primarily linked with a move to Manchester United and Ajax, who may have the advantage due to the good relationship between him and Mohammed Kudus.
Manchester United are, in fact, determined to secure his services in the summer and are reportedly weighing up a £15 million bid, in an attempt to beat Ajax and Liverpool, who, in turn, have shown a lot of ambition in the market recently, as Jurgen Klopp prepares ahead for the new season.
Following a poor title defence campaign, the Reds are desperately looking for reinforcements in both attack and defence. In the final third, the team has appeared especially overly reliant on the services of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane while Diogo Jota has suffered from injuries.
Liverpool, as a result, have even joined the race to sign Jadon Sancho in the summer. In Sulemana, however, Klopp could find himself a cost-effective option who has enjoyed immense success at Nordsjaelland, scoring 10 goals and set up six more in 27 games in all competitions this season.
Overall, the 19-year-old has had a hand in 20 goals in just 40 competitive appearances for the Norwegian outfit, making him one of the most sought-after commodities in Scandinavia. Unfortunately, Liverpool are only being tagged as outsiders in the pursuit of Sulemana, who is primarily tipped for a move to Manchester United.
It appears Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s contact could play a key role in giving the Red Devils the much-needed boost in transfer negotiations. From a sporting perspective, Sulemana might not be a bad option either for Manchester United, as he can offer some excellent competition for the likes of Mason Greenwood and Amad Diallo.
Though a left-winger by trade, the Ghanaian whizkid can operate in a central role as well, potentially making him a long-term replacement for Anthony Martial – should Manchester United offload him in the summer.
In the meantime, Manchester United have shown desire to sign established options as well, with Kingsley Coman emerging as a potential target for the Premier League giants, as they hope to mount a bigger title challenge next season. As far as Sulemana is concerned, it will be interesting to see if Liverpool can somehow beat the Red Devils to his signature.
