Transfer News: Manchester United ready £15 million bid for Kamaldeen Sulemana

Manchester United are reportedly ready to step up their interest in teenage prodigy Kamaldeen Sulemana with a £15 million in the works for the Ghanaian.

According to a report from The Sun, Manchester United are plotting a transfer bid of around £15 million in order to secure the signing of FC Nordsjaelland winger Kamaldeen Sulemana in the summer window.

Having spent the formative years of his footballing career at the Right to Dream academy in Ghana, Sulemana made the switch to Europe only in February last year, when he signed for FC Nordsjaelland where he has quickly developed into a first-team regular. The 19-year-old has enjoyed an impressive 2020/21 campaign during which he has scored 10 goals and set up six more in 27 games in all competitions.

Sulemana, who can play on the flanks as well as a centre-forward, has now emerged as a transfer target for Manchester United heading into the summer window. The Red Devils’ right-wing woes need no introduction and by signing someone like the Ghanaiam wimger, the club will be ensuring that the position on the right-wing is sorted for years to come with the likes of Sulemana, as well as Amad Diallo and Facundo Pellistri.

To that end, Manchester United had top scout Tommy Moller Nielsen watch the winger in action in the 2-2 draw against FC Copenhagen, a game in which he went on to find the back of the net. Having been convinced by the teenager’s potential, the 20-time English champions are now planning concrete action to secure his transfer, by preparing a bid worth £15 million.

However, any move for the 19-year-old would be complicated as he still does not have the number of points required to obtain a work permit under the new post-Brexit rules. That could change if the Danish top-flight climbs a spot in the UEFA co-efficient rankings or if Sulemana adds to his current two caps for the Ghanaian national team.

Apart from Manchester United, Sulemana is also courting strong interest from AFC Ajax, with their director Marc Overmars also watching him in action against Copenhagen. In addition, the teenager is also on the radars of Bayer Leverkusen, Olympique Lyon as well as AS Monaco. It now remains to be seen if the Red Devils are able to beat competition to secure his signing in the summer.
