Arsenal are reportedly set to demand up to €25 million to part ways with Hector Bellerin, who is a target for Barcelona, this coming summer.
According to a report by Italian outlet Calciomercato, Arsenal have named their price to the suitors for Hector Bellerin, who looks set to depart the Emirates in the summer transfer window. The Spanish international is being tailed by Barcelona, Juventus and PSG, who will have to pay between €20 million and €25 million to secure his services.
Bellerin joined Arsenal from Barcelona in the summer of 2011, seeking a clear pathway to first-team football. The Spaniard did manage to secure that a couple of years later and he has not looked back since. While not the express full-back he once was, the player is nevertheless a mainstay at the back for the Gunners.
Till date, the 26-year-old has turned out 235 times for the Premier League outfit, chipping in with 9 goals and 29 assists. However, ahead of the summer transfer window, Bellerin is facing an uncertain future with Arsenal, with reports claiming that he is set to call it quits at the Emirates. This has piqued the interest of Barcelona among others.
Barcelona signed a right-back only last summer when Sergino Dest arrived from Ajax to be the long-term solution in the position. The USMNT international has, in fact, gone on to revel in Ronald Koeman’s recently implemented system where he has flourished as a right wing-back.
However, Sergi Roberto is facing an uncertain future at Barcelona and could well be on his way out of Camp Nou in the summer transfer window. Therefore, it is understandable why Barcelona might be in the market for a right-back, with Bellerin being a viable target, especially considering Arsenal are not demanding a hefty sum in exchange for his services.
The report suggests that Arsenal are only looking for a transfer fee in the region of €20 million to €25 million, which could well fit Barcelona’s budget. The Blaugrana, though, are facing some stiff competition for Bellerin, who is also the subject of interest from Juventus and PSG.
Meanwhile, Arsenal, on their part, seem to be planning for life after Bellerin, with an offer for Inter Milan star Achraf Hakimi reportedly being formulated. What now remains to be seen is whether Barcelona, or the other suitors, are prepared to shell out up to €25 million to land the Spanish international, or if they try to negotiate a lower fee for him.
