Manchester United are reportedly in talks with Fali Ramadani over the prospect of signing Nikola Milenkovic, who has a €35 million price tag, this summer.
According to a report by Italian outlet Calciomercato, Manchester United have stepped up their efforts to sign Nikola Milenkovic in the summer transfer window. The Premier League giants have initiated discussions with agent Fali Ramadani over signing the Serb, who is valued at €35 million by Fiorentina.
Milenkovic has come leaps and bounds since joining Fiorentina from Partizan Belgrade in the summer of 2017. Over the last four years or so, the 23-year-old has gone on to become a mainstay at the back for La Viola while also impressing with his ability to essay different role in defence.
Till date, Milenkovic has turned out 124 times for Fiorentina, even chipping in with 11 goals and an assist in those outings. His progress has alerted a number of clubs, particularly in the Premier League, with Manchester United being the notable suitors in his pursuit.
Manchester United are reportedly set to enter the transfer market for a centre-back this coming summer, as they seek as long-term partner for Harry Maguire. Victor Lindelof has improved with every passing game this season, but the fact that he has been dealing with a chronic back issue has meant that his minutes have had to be managed.
In addition, Eric Bailly has also struggled with a number of issues over the course of his time at Old Trafford, whereas Axel Tuanzebe has also been unavailable for large periods at a stretch, meaning it is imperative for Manchester United to bolster the heart of their defence in the summer transfer window, with Milenkovic being identified as a target.
Apart from Milenkovic, Alessio Romagnoli, another Serie A defender, has also emerged on the Red Devils’ radar and it has become clear that they are set to prioritise a centre-back this summer. As for the interest in Milenkovic, Manchester United have stepped up their interest by beginning talks with agent Fali Ramadani over a summer move.
The Serbian international will not cost a bomb either, with Fiorentina set to demand around €35 million in exchange of his services. It now remains to be seen how talks progress between the two parties and if Manchester United end up signing him in the summer.
