PSG superstar and 2018 FIFA World Cup winner Kylian Mbappe would reportedly consider a transfer to either Liverpool or Real Madrid in the summer.

According to a report from French publication Le Parisien, Liverpool and Real Madrid have received a major boost in their pursuit of PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe as the Frenchman would be open to a summer transfer to either clubs.

The 22-year-old joined PSG in the summer of 2017 after leading AS Monaco to a surprise Ligue 1 title triumph in the previous campaign. Having initially joined on loan, Mbappe made the transfer permanent the subsequent summer and has grown into one of the best young forwards in Europe, plundering goals for fun and winning a host of trophies.

Mbappe will be entering the final year of his current contract with Paris Saint-Germain. While talks over a new deal are said to be ongoing, it has now been claimed that the 22-year-old Frenchman feels that Ligue 1 is too limiting for him and he would stand to benefit by moving to a club like Liverpool or Real Madrid.

Liverpool have a stocked attacking unit as things stand, with Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah being the first-choice trident with new signing Diogo Jota, Divock Origi and Xherdan Shaqiri providing cover. However, none of them have been in top form of late while Jota has been out injured for a while now.

Furthermore, with Salah recently flirting with the idea of a potential transfer to La Liga, the Reds might need a quality reinforcement sooner rather than later, leading to an interest in PSG’s Mbappe.

Real Madrid, on the other hand, are long-term admirers of the 22-year-old French international. Considering that Karim Benzema isn’t getting any younger and Eden Hazard failing to live up to the expectations that came along with his signing in 2019, Los Blancos will need to bolster their attack next summer.

To that end, they are already said to be preparing an offer for Mbappe, which would see them pay €80 million plus send Hazard the other way.

And now, both Liverpool and Real Madrid may have been handed a boost in their pursuit of the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner. Mbappe is said to be keen on the prospect of signing for either Liverpool or Real Madrid while he also feels the same about Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City side.

Any move, however, would depend on how contract negotiations between Mbappe and PSG go. Should they fail to agree on new terms, there is a strong possibility that the 22-year-old could be on the move later this year.
