Real Valladolid have reportedly approached Real Madrid over a possible loan deal for the remainder of the 2020/21 season.
As reported by French outlet Le 10 Sport, Real Madrid have been contacted by Real Valladolid over the prospect of signing Reinier Jesus on loan for the remainder of the season. The young Brazilian is eager to return to his parent club due to a lack of playing time, with Los Blancos also looking at bringing him back this month.
Reinier Jesus joined Real Madrid from Flamengo in January 2020, arriving at the club with a lot of hype surrounding him and his burgeoning talent. In fact, before he even made his senior debut for Flamengo, he was widely regarded as one of the most promising young players in Brazil, with many likening him to former Real Madrid star Kaka.
Unsurprisingly, some of the biggest clubs in the world took note of his talent, with Barcelona and Real Madrid battling it out for his signature. In the end, Los Blancos prevailed in the race to sign him, securing his services nearly one year ago. The teenage prodigy was immediately assigned to the Castilla side before rumours of a loan move appeared in the summer.
Reinier was indeed hauled off on a temporary basis by Real Madrid this past summer, with Borussia Dortmund snapping him up on a two-year loan deal similar to the one that saw them sign Achraf Hakimi back in 2017. The move, though, has not panned out as envisioned, either for the 18-year-old or Real Madrid.
The player is yet to start a single game for Dortmund and has only managed to make 8 appearances off the bench till date. Things have now reached a head for both Reinier and his parent club, who want to cut his loan deal short this month. And, it looks like he could be set for another temporary move already.
Real Valladolid, who were also keen on signing him on loan in the summer, are back in the hunt for the young midfielder and have already approached Real Madrid over the possibility of taking him on for the remainder of the 2020/21 season.
With Real Madrid ready to bring him back to the Spanish capital but also keen for him to continue his progress, a switch to the Jose Zorrilla Stadium could well be on the cards. What now remains to be seen is how talks progress between the two Spanish outfits and if Reinier does end up going on another loan spell, this time within La Liga.
