Barcelona outcast Junior Firpo has emerged as a January target for Inter Milan along with Premier League clubs including Wolves & West Ham.

According to Sport, as relayed by Le10Sport, Junior Firpo’s days at FC Barcelona could be numbered as the defender braces himself for a January exit from Camp Nou. The player is reportedly attracting a lot of interest from Premier League clubs Wolves and West Ham along with Serie A giants Inter Milan.

Once regarded as one of the most talented players in La Liga, Firpo is topping the list of players Barcelona are expected to sell in the January transfer window. The Spanish giants are reportedly keen on downsizing their squad in an attempt to bring in a semblance of balance in their financial books.

As a result, Barca have shown eagerness to get rid of fringe players like Firpo, as well as Carles Alena and Samuel Umtiti while first-team players like Philippe Coutinho have also been included in the list.

So it happens, Ronald Koeman’s men might get lucky with Firpo’s sale, in particular, with the two aforementioned Premier League clubs willing to shell out €20 million for the left-back in January. It is a rather handsome fee for a player who has struggled at Nou Camp since joining the club in 2018, for a fee of €18 million.

Inter Milan, meanwhile, are attempting a smarter coup by trying to obtain Firpo’s services on a short-term loan deal. They want to evaluate whether the youngster is ideal for the Serie A, especially as Antonio Conte hunts for a long-term replacement for the ageing Ashley Young.

From West Ham’s perspective, they could welcome the arrival of a player who could provide direct competition to Aaron Cresswell and the young Ben Johnson especially following Arthur Masuaku’s problems with fitness. As for Wolves, they need a more attacking alternative to Marcal at left wing-back, even though Nuno Espirito Santo already boasts the services of Rayan Ait-Nouri.

Therefore, Firpo appears to be an appealing target for all three clubs interested in his services in the January transfer window. Barcelona’s priority, on the other hand, will be to offload him permanently, ideally for a sum of €20 million, which should give them the ideal financial boost they need as Koeman looks to sign a few players next month.
