Inter Milan have signed Christian Eriksen from Tottenham on a deal that runs through to June 2024, the Serie A giants have announced.
Inter Milan have made an official statement to confirm that they have secured the services of Christian Eriksen. The Danish playmaker has made the move from Tottenham, signing a four-and-a-half-year deal with the Serie A giants, which will run through to June 30, 2024.
Christian Eriksen spent six-and-a-half fruitful years with Tottenham, having joined the Premier League heavyweights from Ajax in the summer of 2013. Over his stint with Spurs, the Dane was a mainstay in the first-team and made over 300 appearances for the North London club.

While he did not manage to win any trophy during his time at Tottenham, Eriksen was a pivotal figure in the club’s transformation into becoming genuine Premier League contenders as well as Champions League regulars. However, over the last six months, it had become clear that it was only a matter of time before Eriksen departed the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
In the final year of his deal with Spurs, Eriksen had refused to put pen to paper on a new contract. While a summer exit was mooted, any move sealing his transfer failed to materialise. However, as the weeks to the January transfer window approached, a switch to Serie A to join Inter Milan was rumoured.
Inter Milan have been busy this winter, having already signed Ashley Young and Victor Moses (loan) in the current window. However, midfield has been reported to be another priority area for the Nerazzurri to bolster in January.
Inter had reinforced their midfield last summer by signing Stefano Sensi and Nicolo Barella, but with Matias Vecino being heavily linked with a January exit, the need to sign a midfielder appeared to have cropped up. To that end, Eriksen had emerged as a viable target, with Luka Modric also seen as an alternative.
Eriksen, though, was always seen as a priority and has now become the third Premier League player to join the Serie A giants. Upon making the switch to San Siro, the 27-year-old expressed his delight at joining the club.
“I couldn’t wait to join, it’s wonderful to be here and I’m happy to be a new Inter player. I’m very excited and can’t wait to introduce myself to the fans. I’ve already experienced their warmth, it’s been a fantastic welcome. I feel great.”
The Danish international has signed a permanent deal with Inter, putting pen to paper on a six-and-a-half-year contract that will run through to June 30, 2024. It will now be interesting to see if he can kickstart the new phase of his career on a strong note, having struggled for form so far this term due to his unsettled nature at Tottenham.
