Former Manchester United star Ravel Morrison has sealed his return to the Premier League, having joined Sheffield United on a one-year deal.
Sheffield United have made an official statement to confirm that they have secured the services of Ravel Morrison. The former Manchester United player had a successful trial with the Blades following which he has put pen to paper on a one-year deal, with an option to extend his stay further for an undisclosed period.
Ravel Morrison had been labeled as one of the brightest prodigies to have emanated from the Manchester United academy during the Sir Alex Ferguson era. But, the Englishman never managed to fulfil the prophecy, departing from Old Trafford after making just three first-team appearances.

The Manchester United academy graduate subsequently joined West Ham United in January 2012. Still very much in his teens, the player still had nearly his entire career to look forward to. But, like with his boyhood club, Morrison could not manage to cut it with the East Londoners following three loan spells away from the club.
Thereafter, it has been the story of a journeyman who has been unable to last long at one particular club. The 26-year-old’s last stint was at Swedish outfit Ostersund, for whom he managed a mere 6 outings in the second half of the 2018-19 campaign. Morrison though, is now set for a return to the Premier League.
Newly promoted club Sheffield United had been heavily linked with a move for the Englishman. And the Blades have indeed secured the services of the former Manchester United starlet, tying him down to a one-year deal, which perhaps makes sense considering his troubled past, with respect to consistency and disciplinary issues.
Following a successful trial period, Morrison seems to have impressed Chris Wilder enough, as the Sheffield United boss was all praises for the 26-year-old.
“Ravel is an undoubted talent and we are delighted that we have put together a deal that suits all parties. I’ve spoken to a number of people about him and it is clear that he has serious ability. We are getting a fantastic footballer with a tremendous pedigree and this is a great opportunity for Rav, we believe we can help him get back to the level he wants to be.”
Morrison now becomes the fourth summer signing for Sheffield United, with Luke Freeman, Phil Jagielka and Callum Robinson previously making their way to Bramall Lane. The Blades though, might not be done just yet, with Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson also linked with a move to the newly promoted Premier League club.
