Transfer News: Krystian Bielik ready to quit Arsenal for regular football

Former Legia Warsaw youngster Krystian Bielik could quit Arsenal in search of first-team football after an impressive season with Charlton.

Arsenal are at the centre of speculation as yet another young star is seemingly ready to quit the North London side in search of first-team football. The Sun reckon Krystian Bielik could move away from Arsenal in the summer as the Polish player seeks senior football after gaining valuable experience while on loan at Charlton.

Bielik believes he has gained enough experience to be considered for the first team next season. After playing a starring role in Charlton’s promotion to the Championship, where he was named man of the match in the playoffs, Bielik wants to be recognised by Unai Emery for his efforts as he now considers himself a ‘senior player’.

In the case Arsenal do not offer him the desired opportunities with their first team, the Polish Under-21 star is ready to quit the North London side and look elsewhere for the right club. Bielik joined Arsenal as a 17-year-old back in January 2015. After spending two years with the youngsters at different age levels at Arsenal, he has gone out on loan on several occasions to make a claim.

Birmingham, Walsall and Charlton have taken the youngster on loan so far and his performances with Charlton last season have come close to showing his real worth to Arsenal. He played 31 times in League One last season, scoring three goals in the process. Originally signed as a defensive midfielder by Arsene Wenger, Bielik has shown versatility in defensive areas and is now primarily a centre-back.

Having featured heavily during pre-season games under Arsene Wenger, Bielik is yet to show anything to Emery and hopes this summer could be his chance to do so. His contract ends in 2020, and this summer could be the real test for Arsenal to either recognise his talents and lay him regularly or sell him for whatever could be fetched for the player’s value.

“My future is unknown, but there is one thing I can say for sure: I will definitely not go back to Arsenal Under-23 team. “At this stage, it wouldn’t make sense. If I do not receive the possibility to join the first team permanently, I will have to look for other solutions.

“I feel like a senior player now, so I want to play senior football. This is, however, not the right moment to discuss these issues as I want to be 100 per cent focused on the European Championships.” Said Bielik in a recent interview.

If he does leave, he could join many other youngsters looking for a way out of the club in search of first-team football. Arsenal are on the verge of losing some precarious talents like Xavier Amaechi who is looking to quit the club. Additionally, there is concern over the future of young full-back Jordi Osei-Tutu, while other defenders Vontae Daley-Campbell and Bayli Spencer-Adams have already departed.

A decision depends on how Emery views the situation with new assistant Freddie Ljungberg, who might have a better insight into Bielik’s performances and chances. However, Bielik remains a decent talent, someone Emery could make do with. His performances with Charlton certainly deserves a shot with the Arsenal first team, but will Emery give him that chance remains a question.
