Manchester United have reportedly received a major boost in their chase for English attacking ace Jadon Sancho, valued at £100 million by Borussia Dortmund.
According to an exclusive report by Daily Mirror, Manchester United might have inched close towards signing Jadon Sancho. Borussia Dortmund seem to have softened their stance on the £100 million-rated English international, and are eyeing Callum Hudson-Odoi as a possible replacement for the attacking ace.
Jadon Sancho has become the talk of the town this season, having become an indispensable figure for Borussia Dortmund on the back of several eye catching performances. A return of 9 goals and 17 assists in 35 performances to boot, it is clear why the teenage prodigy’s stock is constantly rising.
With his stature skyrocketing, interest from several top European clubs has duly arrived, with Manchester United being the most prominent among the suitors. In fact, as per widespread reports, the 18-year-old is set to be a priority target for the Premier League heavyweights in the summer, and for good reason.
Sancho could primarily solve an age old issue at Old Trafford, with recent Manchester United managers having no natural right winger. Additionally, the player’s addition would also boost the creativity in the final third, taking some load off Paul Pogba, who has often had to do all the playmaking by himself.
But, considering his status at the Signal Iduna Park, it would not be too speculative to suggest that it would take quite a bit for Manchester United to swoop the Englishman away from Borussia Dortmund. And, the Bundesliga outfit have named their price for their prized possession.
Die Schwarzgelben have slapped a £100 million price tag on Sancho – a valuation that should not ideally startle United. More importantly, Dortmund have started scouring for possible replacements for the teenage attacking ace, with compatriot Callum Hudson-Odoi being their top target.
The Chelsea starlet, who has earned his maiden international call-up this month, has reportedly grown frustrated over a lack of regular game time at Stamford Bridge. The Blues did succeed in keeping hold of the promising winger in January, but Bayern Munich are reportedly plotting a summer move for him as well.
Dortmund though, are hoping to steal a march on their domestic rivals, with the hopes of using their track record of grooming youngsters to persuade Hudson-Odoi to make his way to Westfalenstadion. But, as is the case with their erstwhile stance on Manchester United target Sancho, Chelsea are unwilling to part ways with their young prospect, with their impending transfer ban complicating matters.
As things stand, it looks like Jadon Sancho’s possible switch to Old Trafford hinges on Callum Hudson-Odoi making his way to Borussia Dortmund. Whether the domino effect kicks in remains to be seen, but Manchester United will be pleased with the change in Dortmund’s stance on the £100 million-rated 18-year-old’s availability this summer.
