Arsenal and Tottenham are reportedly showing interest in Hannes Wolf and are ready to battle each other in pursuit of the RB Salzburg youngster.
If the report from Mirror is to be believed, Hannes Wolf is a name that is quickly gaining traction, with most of the interest arriving from the Premier League. Arsenal and Tottenham are both interested in the RB Salzburg youngster, with Wolf also on the radar of Everton and a host of top German clubs.
Wolf is not exactly an unknown prospect. The youngster has been impressive at every age level and is already an Austrian Champion with RB Salzburg, a team he joined in 2017. The present season has proven that he is only going to get better, boasting stats of 9 assists and 4 goals already.
Plying his trade as an attacking midfielder with the ability to also play as a striker or out wide, the 19-year-old RB Salzburg star has been likened to Tottenham playmaker Christian Eriksen. With the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham, Everton and top German outfits interested, Wolf might not be a RB Salzburg player for long.
Arsenal boast of star playmakers like Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Mesut Ozil and even Aaron Ramsey. But, Ramsey is likely to be on his way out of the club when his contract expires. Mesut Ozil on the other hand, seems to have fallen out-of-favour under Unai Emery, who has supposedly taken aim at the German’s lack of work rate among other things.
Emery has already shown he isn’t too afraid to inculcate youngsters into the first-choice starting eleven, with Matteo Guendouzi becoming a key part of the setup.
For Tottenham, it is more a case of adding competition to places. Dele Alli has grown comfortable in the number 10 role at Tottenham and Mauricio Pochettino has been looking to add one player at the said position just to keep his star player on his toes and not be assured of his undroppable status at the club.
However, Wolf is tipped to be heading towards Bundesliga when he does end up moving away from RB Salzburg. One of the main reasons for the same could be chalked down to the agency that represents the 19-year-old, SportsTotal. Majority of the stars that are with SportsTotal are either currently plying their trade in Bundesliga or have done so before moving elsewhere.
Still, Arsenal, Tottenham and even Everton could attempt to lure the youngster over to the Premier League, citing the superior fan attraction of the league.
