Real Madrid are reportedly the latest club to emerge as suitors in pursuit of Aaron Ramsey, who is also being targeted by Manchester United

According to an exclusive report by Team Talk, Real Madrid have joined the race to join Aaron Ramsey, who is also the subject of interest from Manchester United, among several other clubs. The Welshman faces an uncertain future at Arsenal, after negotiations over a new deal broke down recently.

Ramsey has established himself into a bonafide superstar in Premier League football since making his belated breakthrough at Arsenal in the 2013-14 season. Since then, he has not only become a pivotal player for the Gunners, but is also regarded as one of the best midfielders on show in the English top flight.

However, the 27-year-old’s future at the Emirates is bleak, after talks over a new deal broke down completely. Arsenal had initially been confident of tying the Welsh international to a new long-term deal, but the latest development means the player could run down his contract at the club, which has piqued the interest of several club, including Manchester United and Real Madrid.

The interest from Manchester United is pretty straightforward. Paul Pogba’s awkward situation with Jose Mourinho means that the Frenchman faces an uncertain future at Old Trafford. Should Pogba end up leaving, in January or otherwise, Ramsey will be a like-for-like replacement for him, considering the two share similar attributes.

But, Manchester United are understandably not the only big name club hotly pursuing Ramsey, with Real Madrid the latest club to enter the chase for him. Los Blancos too, could be in serious need of midfield reinforcements by the time the transfer window opens next summer.

Chelsea could make serious attempts to make Mateo Kovacic’s stay at Stamford Bridge a permanent one. On top of that, Luka Modric is in the twilight years of his career and will need to be adequately replaced soon enough. Ramsey is thus, a viable target, although he is not exactly a like-for-like replacement for the Croat magician.

Ramsey though, could add some much needed goals to the Real Madrid attack, which makes an attractive prospect. And, the European champions are hoping to usurp Manchester United by using Gareth Bale’s influence to convince Ramsey that the Santiago Bernabeu is the ideal destination for him.

Meanwhile, a number of other clubs are unsurprisingly interested in signing Ramsey as well, with the likes of AC Milan, Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool all being in his pursuit alongside Manchester United and Real Madrid.

The race to sign the Welsh superstar is surely heating up, and it will be interesting to see how Ramsey zeroes in on the next club to continue his progress. It remains to be seen if the Gareth Bale’s influence helps Real Madrid beat Manchester United and a bevy of other clubs to Aaron Ramsey’s signature.
