Tottenham are showing a keen interest in the services of Croatian international Ante Rebic, who is expected to leave Eintracht Frankfurt this summer.
According to latest reports from German football magazine SportBild (h/t SportWitness), Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Ante Rebic. The Eintracht Frankfurt attacker was super impressive in Bundesliga last season and is expected to make a big-money move this summer.
Spurs, it seems, have reignited their desire of signing the Croatian international, who piqued their interest five years ago before he switched to Fiorentina. Even though Rebic didn’t really have a great time in Italy, the 24-year-old has sparked his career into life after moving to Germany a couple of seasons ago.
Initially being brought in as a loan signing from Fiorentina in the summer of 2016, Rebic has seen an extraordinary rise in his stock during his time in the German top flight. Following a somewhat decent debut season at the club, the native of Split helped Frankfurt win the DFB Pokal in this past season whilst also helping them secure a top-eight finish in the league.
Rebic scored nine goals in all competitions, which, as measly as it seems, were priceless for a Frankfurt side who have been one of the most impressive German clubs in the past 12 months.
Although there has been no concrete offer from Tottenham, Bild claims that the Lilywhites are firmly interested in the services of 24-year-old as they look to strengthen their attacking department this summer.
Following a rather satisfying season, in which Spurs finished third in the Premier League table, head coach Mauricio Pochettino is eager to build a solid team in order to pose a threat for the title next season. And the only way of ensuring that is to spend big in the transfer market. Thus, it comes as no surprise as to why Spurs are interested in Ante Rebic, who is definitely a viable target for the North-London giants.
Highly regarded as one of the most dangerous attackers in the Frankfurt squad, Ante Rebic may not be the most talented attacker in the Bundesliga. That being said, Rebic’s sheer commitment coupled with an unmatched will to impress is what makes him a such a sought-after talent in German football.
