Transfer News: Mauro Icardi tipped to be summer’s big transfer as Real Madrid remain interested

Mauro Icardi, who is on the radar of Real Madrid, has been tipped by Italian agent Federico Pastorello to leave Inter Milan in the summer.

Mauro Icardi has already proven his pedigree for the big stage at Inter Milan. But, according to respected Italian agent Federico Pastorello, the Argentine will finally call time on his Inter Milan career in the summer and has been tipped by the agent to become the summer’s big transfer, with Real Madrid waiting in the wings to sign the striker.

Mauro Icardi is arguably one of the best number 9s in world football at the moment. The Argentine made a name for himself after joining Sampdoria from Barcelona’s academy setup. But, it is at Inter Milan where he has become the phenomenon he is today. Arriving in the summer of 2013, Icardi’s career has since taken flight.

While Icardi has not tasted any success with Inter Milan as far as trophies are concerned, he has been constantly among the goals for the Nerazzurri and even finished the 2014-15 Serie A season as the league’s top scorer. This season as well, he has been prolific, with 18 goals in 22 league games so far, behind only Ciro Immobile (20).

Real Madrid were linked heavily to Mauro Icardi in January, with Los Blancos in desperate need to add to their attack. The Benzema-Bale-Cristiano Ronaldo trio has not been among the goals as much as they usually are, which has seen Real Madrid struggle to muster up a title challenge with Barcelona steering 19 points clear of Zinedine Zidane & co.

Karim Benzema is the designated striker and his lack of goals this season – just 2 goals in 15 La Liga outings so far – has been pointed as one of the main reasons for a disastrous domestic campaign. Zidane resisted the temptation to add a striker to his squad in January, something which could ultimately cost him his job.

Regardless, Florentino Perez has already drawn up his shortlist to reinforce the attack in the summer, with Mauro Icardi one of the names on the priority list. The 24-year-old has the ability to lead the frontline at Santiago Bernabeu for the better half of the decade to follow.

And Real Madrid have now received a boost in their pursuit of Mauro Icardi, with respected Italian agent Federico Pastorello claiming that Mauro Icardi will leave Inter Milan in the summer and will be the summer transfer window’s big signing, tipping him to go for big numbers.

Earlier reports claimed Real Madrid were plotting a near €100 million bid for Mauro Icardi. And, with the player expected to leave Inter Milan in the summer, a similar amount is expected.
