Transfer News: Daley Blind considering a summer move away from Manchester United

Manchester United’s Daley Blind has been unable to feature for the clubs this season, prompting him to consider his options in the summer.

According to a report on ESPN, Daley Blind will consider his options and look for a move elsewhere if Jose Mourinho continues to ignore him for matches from now until the end of the season.

Manchester United utility player and Netherlands international Daley Blind has seen his career at the Premier League giants stalled. Jose Mourinho, despite retaining trust and belief in the player, has been unable to find a regular role for the versatile Dutch international.

The lack of games under his belt this season has Blind considering his options ahead of next summer if his prospects in the first team remain unchanged. Signed from Ajax in a £13.8 million deal back in 2014, Blind has been a regular in the Manchester United side, barring this season.

Primarily a left back, Blind has shown his versatility by playing in defensive midfield and central defensive positions for United. All three areas that he plays in remain well covered this season, especially the left back slot where he has fallen behind Ashley Young and Luke Shaw in the pecking order.

United are set to trigger an option to extend his current deal by one year, but its said they would be open to allowing Blind leave the club if he asks. Still only 27-years-old, Blind will be eager for more game time, either at Manchester United or elsewhere.

Blind has been long linked with a move to Barcelona, and the Catalan giants were said to be weighing up a move in the current January window for the Manchester United man. Fenerbahce are also linked with a January move for Blind.

There seem to be no immediate concerns regarding the Daley Blind at Manchester United in the January window, but the player has the option of leaving for free in the summer. Blind might just be on his way out, considering the situation does not look like one that will improve over time.
