Barcelona are reportedly lining up a move to bring Luis Suarez back to Anfield in the coming summer transfer window.
According to a report by Spanish publication Diario Gol, Luis Suarez could soon be on his way back to Anfield. Liverpool are plotting a reunion with the Uruguayan striker, having already made an offer to Barcelona, who are open to selling the player.
Suarez joined Barcelona from Liverpool in the summer of 2014 after nearly leading the Reds to their first ever Premier League title. Already regarded as one of the best strikers in the world before the move, the player has only gone on to enhance his reputation at Camp Nou and establish himself as one of the best front-men of his generation.
Suarez has not just been all about scoring goals, with 73 assists in addition to 132 goals in 170 appearances for Barcelona. And despite enduring his worst campaign as a Barcelona player to date, the 30-year-old still has a decent return of 11 goals and an assist in 15 league appearances.
Luis Suarez moved ahead of Samuel Eto’o into 7th on the list of all-time top scorers for Barcelona yesterday, with 132 goals.

So while it goes without saying that the move has been nothing short of fruitful for both the club and the player, his time at Camp Nou might be about to come to an end. Barcelona are plotting a move for Antonio Griezmann, and are open to moving the former Liverpool man on if a worthy offer is received.
And it is the Reds who are exploring the possibility of bringing Suarez back to Anfield as Jurgen Klopp looks to boost his attacking options. The Liverpool boss currently has Daniel Sturridge, Danny Ings, Dominic Solanke and the away-on-loan Divock Origi as his current striking options apart from Roberto Firmino.
But, Sturridge’s Liverpool future is under a cloud, while Origi has failed to inspire much confidence during his stint at Anfield. Solanke is viewed as a long-term option for the Reds and still has a long way to go before he becomes a regular, making Suarez a viable short-term solution for the Merseyside club.
Liverpool have made some headway in their pursuit of the player as well, making an initial offer during negotiations for Philippe Coutinho’s move to Barcelona. With Barcelona being open to selling Suarez, we may just see him make his way back to a place where he continues to be regarded highly by the fans.
It now remains to be seen if a dream Liverpool return sees the light of the day as Jurgen Klopp makes his move to sign Suarez in the coming summer transfer window.
