Marouane Fellaini is reportedly ready to call time on his spell at Manchester United, and is set to reject the latest contract offer from the club.
According to an exclusive report by The Express, Marouane Fellaini has no plans of extending his stay at Manchester United, with his contract set to run out at the end of the year. The Belgian midfielder has already rejected one renewal offer from the Red Devils, and is ready to reject the latest deal that has been put on the table.
Fellaini’s journey as a Manchester United player has been one roller coaster ride, complete with the highest of highs and lowest of lows. The start to the player’s career at Old Trafford was hardly ideal as he was often made the scapegoat for the disastrous 2013-14 season under David Moyes.
But, Fellaini has slowly gone about resurrecting his image in the minds of the Manchester United supporters. On the field, he has established himself as a key player for the Red Devils since the arrival of Jose Mourinho, making 59 appearances in the last 18 months with a return if 8 goals and 3 assists to show for his efforts.

However, there have been increasing concerns surrounding his future at Manchester United, with his contract set to run out in six months’ time. The Red Devils have already had one renewal offer rejected by Fellaini, who is ready to refuse any further deals that will be put on the table for him.
The 30-year-old has already begun looking for a new team, with the report suggesting that he has been approached with a lucrative offer from an unnamed Chinese Super League club. Besiktas have also been linked with Fellaini as per recent reports, with the Turkish club likely to attempt a January assault.
Fellaini’s objective is to secure regular game time to make the best use of his peak years, and having failed to start week in week out at Manchester United, his intention to depart from Old Trafford does make sense.
But, the Red Devils will not let the player leave in January, with Mourinho not having a gamut of options at his disposal if Fellaini moves away. The Manchester United manager has already made it clear that the club will do whatever it can to tie the midfielder down to a new contract, although that seems likely to be futile in the end.
With that in mind, it looks like they have already started seeking appropriate replacement options, with the likes of Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Bryan Cristante and others linked. As far as Fellaini is concerned, his Manchester United stint is running on its last legs, with a move away from Old Trafford set to happen soon.
