Marco Asensio is reportedly ready to quit Real Madrid amidst rumours linking him to a move to Manchester United.
According to Spanish publication Diario Gol, Manchester United have received a shot in the arm in their pursuit of Real Madrid sensation Marco Asensio. The youngster, who has taken the footballing world by storm, is reportedly ready to quit Real Madrid and is keen on a move to Manchester United.
Marco Asensio has been widely hailed to be the flagbearer of the next generation of Spanish talent coming to the fore. The player has not just managed to carve out a place for himself in the first-team setup at Real Madrid, but also in the senior setup for La Roja.
Much has been expected from the 21-year-old, who is seen by many to be the next superstar for Real Madrid. The attacker has already made 23 appearances for Real this season, with 7 goals and 3 assists to show for his efforts. There have been talks of Florentino Perez deeming the player as an indispensable part of his squad.
But, the latest rumours might come as bit of a shock for the fans. According to the reports, Real Madrid are looking to bring in Neymar, who looks unhappy at Paris Saint-Germain. And to find a place for him within the squad, Los Blancos are ready to sacrifice Marco Asensio.

Asensio, too, is ready to quit Real Madrid and is now assessing his options. One of the teams that have always been interested in him is Manchester United. The Red Devils have been linked with him from the time he first made his senior debut for Real Madrid and they seem to have retained interest in the 21-year-old.
With Jose Mourinho wanting to add a winger to his squad, Asensio is now a prime target, especially with the player being more accessible than before, according to the floating rumours. Asensio had only just renewed his contract at Real, signing a six-year deal with the club of his dreams.
But, with questions surrounding his future at the club, the player himself is now keen on a move to Manchester United. Florentino Perez though, will not let the player go easily and will want a heavy pay in return from United.
According to the report, Zidane is not too keen on retaining Asensio, which might just be a telling factor in the player’s next step. United fans would be buoyed by the tantalising prospect of an attack featuring Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio – a prospect that seems more realistic than before.
